Welcome to Sussex Borough

Sussex Borough was settled by Peter Decker in approximately 1742. It was incorporated from Wantage Township as the Borough of Deckertown on October 15, 1891. The name was changed to Sussex Borough on March 7, 1902, named for the historic county of Sussex in England. Sussex Borough has a total area of 0.62 square miles and is completely surrounded by Wantage Township.

Celebrate 250 Years of Our Nation

Save the Date! Saturday, July 18

Sussex Borough and Wantage Township are hosting a 250th Celebration of our Nation. Parade at 2:00 in Sussex. Music, food, activities, demonstrations, and more at Woodbourne Park beginning at 5:00. The schedule and details are tentative so check back often as we finalize the details.
